Time for a real presidential debate in the Philippines

Facebook friend Butch Tan made a great proposal as we were discussing the ANC Leadership Forum.

That proposal is to have Senator Manny 'Itik' Villar, Loren Legarda, and Ping Lacson in the next round - if there will be a next round. I wonder why he didn't include Mayor Jejomar Binay and MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando?

I personally didn't like the fact that all three candidates mentioned by Butch declined ANC's invitation.

Ping could have sent a better phrased 'regrets' other than saying that he had taken ill or had some other pressing engagement and that if another forum would be held, he'd attend it especially if he would come face to face with survey frontrunners.

Perhaps we can have Tina Monson Palma do all the questions because I don't think Ricky Carandang was incisive enough.

And, also, I hope really tough questions are asked.
