Elections in the Philippines takes a comedic turn

Elections in the Philippines in 2010 has been slapped with a comedic twist with Senator Jamby Madrigal's declaration of her intent to run as President. Every Philippine election has its share of highs, lows, and outright guffaws.

On Friday, July 31, Madrigal announced in a press conference in Makati that after much soul searching, she had decided to offer herself as an alternative candidate in the 2010 elections. With a strong advocacies on the environment as well as women's and children's rights, she has dubbed herself as the Green candidate.

In 2007, everybody was wondering what Chavit Singson was doing when he decided to run for Senator. We also had our bout with Eli Pamatong and Eddie Gil.

If Senator Madrigal really runs for President, one would wonder, what would she offer voters in the next elections apart from comic relief?
