It has been days now and everybody is still talking about Miriam Defensor Santiago's outburst on Day 26 of the Impeachment Trial.
Provoked by Defense Panel Lawyer Vitaliano Aguirre cupping his ears, Defensor Santiago unleashed a whirlwind of words that whittled down the veteran lawyer.
The thing is, it doesn't take much to set off Miriam's fuse, a cellphone ringing in the middle of a hearing actually set her off.
If you are the sort of tightwad that will buy an expensive cellphone and instead of downloading a great ringtone, decide to make your own ringtone by recording a song using their phone and then set it as a ringtone.

Thing is, sometimes the recording can be so bad and tinny that the ringtone comes out on playback sounds like a tin can being put through a blender. I just can't imagine your friends or business associates thinking well of you after your phone rings, even if it is the latest iteration of some famous brand.
A bad ringtone, really, just kills the wow factor of your device. It's like meeting a pretty girl with bad breath.
Why inflict that on others?
For sure, whipping out the latest cellphone from your pocket is very cool. But imagine whipping out your cellphone after it rings with a crappy tone? Still cool?! Nope.
Most people would probably think your phone is a cheap knock\-off, the very incarnation of the information age version of being "Shanghaied" or being unwittingly conscripted to use boot legged technology just because it's cheap.
The thing is, there are better ways of getting a free ringtone for a cellphone, without having to go through the fuss of using your phone to make one. No mess, no fuss.
There are actually a number of websites that offer the service, but so far, the best one I've tried that gives free ringtones is mobile 17.
