Personal reaction to President Benigno Noynoy Aquino's inauguration

The whole inauguration ceremony seemed like a major production number of a variety show and as can expected, the producers of the inauguration probably intended to trigger as much emotionalism as possible.

There were a lot of odd moments, such as Noel Cabangon leading everyone in swearing some kind of oath.  As much as I admire the musician, what he did tended to detract from the solemnity of the event.

I was actually expecting President Noynoy Aquino to be more business like in his speech, but for the most part of it, what he said was basically a rehash of his campaign spiels.

Yesterday radio announcers on DZMM made a big deal about Noynoy's convoy stopping at every traffic sign and obeying traffic rules.  This was a rather ungracious attempt at PROJECTING him as a humble President.  In his speech today, he made another reference to obeying traffic rules and what stuck out was the part where he said:
Walang wang-wang, walang counter-flow, walang tong.
Yeah, yeah, yeah... President Noynoy Aquino is sincere, humble and kind.  I mean, that bit has been played to the hilt already.
One obvious Obama copycat spiel was Noynoy saying:
Kayo ang boss ko, kaya’t hindi maaaring hindi ako makinig sa mga utos ninyo.

We will design and implement an interaction and feedback mechanism that can effectively respond to the people’s needs and aspirations.
Really? I am your boss?  This is such a patent attempt at flattery, if ever there was one.

On the whole, I'd rate the inauguration quite poorly.
